HOCKEY IS STRENGTH

Strong skaters, size and strength, hands/puck handling ability, shot strength/scoring ability, hockey sense, competitiveness, leadership, poise/composure, and productivity.

These are the traits that hockey scouts look for and it all starts with physical readiness. The best players always share this one trait: “strong on his skates”. Strength in skating ability will often dictate a positive or negative evaluation of a young hockey player.
Strength translates to speed on skates and is often the difference between top tier junior A level players and division 1 college players.
